Looks KX. What are the wire colours from the unit -black, blue and white/red?

Looks a bit Yamaha-ish as well.....I'd say it's Mitsubishi anyway. The control module isn't Yamaha so not being familiar with Kwakas I'll bow to my wrecking yard colleague who'd know such stuff :D.

Also looks Suzuki  A/B/C - N/T  (kokusan?) - very interesting , also it doesnt run a chain tensioner on it ?   :)

This is funny.....we've covered all of the Japanese makes here and we all think we're right ;D......Whatever it is it's a neat conversion.

I'd say it might have started out on a PDV.I have a PDV 250 that uses the same type Mitsubishi box.

Ill confirm the wire colours , definitely on a turned up  adaptor backing plate.
coil is grey with "made in Japan "on it so it could well be k/h/y / suz!

No tensioner and the clutch is a full billet aluminium job, very nicely machined, and petty unmarked.

I haven't had a timing light on it so don't know about advance.

The motor is pulled down awaiting top end refreshments..

anyway its a simple system the big 4 were using back in the day with the big fat coil charging the cdi and the little fellow pulsing the cdi to turn the coil off,for different advance curves theres plenty of different models of bikes from the era to choose from though you need to know what wires go where but not that hard with a circuit diagram to guide you ;)

A mate looked at it and thought it looked Suzuki rm...

I was looking at the CDI unit on a B model rm125 on sunday - looks very similar..

As for wire colours coming out of the stator: 1White,1 red and 1 blue and brown
from the CDI to the coil, 1black and 2 green and yellow.
there are also numbers on the coil, but haven't unbolted it to see what they are.
So if its RM any comments on the advance they have?

thanks
