agree Nick nigmax that = 729,142.87 AUD :P

Surely it's a typo. 50k is outrageously expensive but probably it's worth. What an absolutely beautiful bike.

Same as the old boys. Seems it's a whole collection for 500k? Weird listings though.
I might be reading it wrong but i thought it was 500K for the collection.
Cheers
Nick
Yeah it does seem that way.

I don't like his chances of getting 10K let alone 50k. Jonesy'll be stoked if our Belgian friend gets that money, besides Black Betty he's got another one of these plus a couple of spare motors. As beautiful as the Jawa 500 is, they're pretty heavy, don't turn and have to be cut and shut a bit to make them competitive, that's why Alan cut the corner and fitted the motor to a Metisse. That's why you rarely see them racing in pre 60 or even pre 65 events. All that aside.....what an engine though 8). It's the fifties predecessor to the ESO speedway engine with a unit construction gearbox (many think the speedway motor came first but it's the other way around).

Alain has been thinking of selling his collection for a few years. He got very pissed off when he struggled with his local Council for ages, trying to get approval for a Museum building (which never did get approval). Go to his web page and see all the bikes in the collection, the auction is for all of them, from what I understand. We did a piece on him and his collection in issue 32 of VMX Magazine.

It's the deal of the year if it's the entire collection. There's some good stuff in that collection, the ESO might be the queen of the collection to some but to me this Cheney B50 is as cool as penguin piss.

Man knew my Cheney BSA was like money in the bank.... but first over to NZ with 500K can take the lot ;)
You can have my 'collection' and I will toss in a couple of trick Ducati's to sweeten the deal.

Surely eBay is NOT the place to sell this collection ??? Guess its just an advertising tactic to get the word around. Normally an auction house would deal with a significant collection ...... but take their fees of course ::) ::) Maybe a full page add in VMX Magazine is the way to go ;D
I would think Tom White would have some interest .....if he could double the size of his museum ;D He has a wonderful collection as we know.

Since when does US$350k become $500k? Unless its the kiwi peso you are talking about!
-
The price is for all 60 bikes.
Less than £4000 per bike. Of course some will be worth less (perhaps a lot less) but some will be worth more.
Pocket money to a wealthy collector I would have thought.

Pretty sure the listing started off at US500k then dropped back to 350k PEZBerg

Ah that explains it Tony. That's a pretty quick response to the market I would then. Cheers
