Hi All,
just a quick reminder that Viper Round 1 on 14th April is coming up fast, if you intend to ride at this round could you please make a big effort to have your entry in by Wednesday 10th April either via post or email.
Entries can be sent to VVMXC, 8A Granter St, Kangaroo Flat, Vic, 3555. or emailed to [email protected]
If you have not renewed your membership please do so ASAP as renewals were due by 1st April. Membership forms can be downloaded from the Viper website. www.viper-mx.com
As a last resort you can email Mick Hughes and let him know what class you will be racing in and bring your completed entry form and payment with you on race day. This season i will be sending reminders to all members before each Viper race meeting to get your entries in, please make the effort to pre-enter on paper or pre-enter via email as rider numbers are critical for a successful day.
Also this year if you the rider have any concerns on race day regarding the track, watering of track etc. please bring this to my attention at riders briefing if possible. Please do not go and download your opinion on any of the host club members or officials, come and see me in a sensible manner and let me know of your concern. I will then let you know what the outcome will be, this applies to every Viper event. Keep in mind we do want to be invited back to these tracks year after year and we need to be respectful of the individual clubs rules and members.
Regards Peter Gruber. 1/4/2013.

Hi all,
quick update regarding the Ravo race meeting this weekend the 14th April please don`t forget the Rec. classes for junior and senior riders that we have introduced this year, if your kids or any friends would like to ride but not race the Viper rounds these are the classes for them. More info on the Rec classes can be found on the Viper website. www.viper-mx.com
Also another reminder to get your entries in ASAP, please send them to VVMXC. 8A Granter Street Kangaroo Flat Vic. 3555. or email Mick Hughes on [email protected]
We may require some help with lap scoring on race day for this meeting and also for some other rounds as well, if you know of anyone that may be able to help us with this please let Arno Franz know on [email protected]
Camping at the track is available on Saturday night and is normally well supported, lets make round 1 a good one and set the scene for a good year for Viper. Regards Peter.

Was all set to come but unfortunately we are hosting round one of the Vic Quads on the same day & as usual it is left to the same old crowd to run things.
I prepped the track yesterday hoping to catch the promised rain Thursday & still more to do Saturday arvo.
Therefore I sharn't be attending.
Someone have a few beers for me Sat night. Hope all goes well & Viper has a bumper (No referrence to Anthony) season.

Sorry mate but this is the only meeting we clash with you guys at the Mitchell Ride days so all should be good after this weekend. By the next Viper round on the 19th May at Toolleen i reckon your new hip should be right to go as well. Peter.
-
Thanks Pete, I'l be rarin to go :-)
-
FYI. Just came from the track which is in superb condition. Ravenswood at it's best. Too bad I'm in the cheap seats.
Cheers,

Awesome, looking forward to it .
-
Awesome day at ravo today thanks to everyone who put it together. Thanks Viper and the Ravo commitee . Hilly .
-
What a banger day had a ball! Bit sore today but 48 laps inc practice will do that! I bet I'm not as sore as the young local bloke, mick brockley who had a nasty get off running over Steve woodford and also Arno franz who made a rare mistake and went sightseeing whilst leading by a mile! Hope you all ok guys see you at tooleen

Haven't heard how the local guy who broke his femur is, nor how Arno or Steve have faired. Mick Brockley however had his broken hip repaired in Hospital last night and they have him up & around on crutches today. Mick B must be on tough SOB as he didn't, squeal, skwark or whinge and endured a 2 1/2 hour drive home to go to his local hospital!

Get well soon Mick. Hope to see you back on the bike as soon as you can. There was some carnage yesterday in what seems like a pretty straight forward section of track. Hopefully the guy with the femur makes a full recovery, nasty injury that. Steve seemed ok apart from being a bit shaken up after seeing the rear end of the ATK ....
-
Hi all
Good luck to all who got injured
I ran into the bank and used the inside of my thigh to bend my bars as far forward as they could go and ripped the grip off
My thigh grew to twice the size and is black as
Doc said 2 weeks in bed dont think it will take that long will miss taralgon
Thanks to ravenswood mcc ,all Helpers and lap scorers
For a great day
Arno. 72

I was behind the guy on the CR that cartwheeled into the front of the finish line table top, that was one nasty episode so I hope he is ok.
-
Two weeks in bed Arno! I couldn't do that unless I was in a coma! Bummer bout VCM though.
-
Awesome day. Can't remember seeing so much loam at Ravenswood!
The pace seemed high yesterday so the crashes were big!
Both big crashes were right in front of where I was pitted. When I got home last night I was telling my kids that I saw the biggest live crash ever (the young guy over the finish line table). He got squirly up the up ramp and high sided off and did about three cart wheels over the tabletop and landed at the bottom.
He had just passed someone for 2nd and had just pulled the trigger on the double after the last corner .....
Then saw the man on the elisnore do a cart wheel into the deck on that 2nd jump.... Looked like the CR tagged him as we'll as a very hard landing.....
I hope they both recover quickly!!!!
Thanks to viper and bendigo. Clubs Fantastic day!!!
-
Geez, sounds like you boys where racing for sheep stations? ;D....hope everyone recovers well....hey Scunge....did you get out of 2nd gear?
-
Davey, I was all fired up after putting a tank through the RM at hbbb but think nerves, no fitness and permanent man flu meant 1st gear all the way!
Quite depressing really but on the bright side survived to tell the tale and ready to ride another day.
P.s I still would have lapped you :)
-
Thanks to Viper & Bendigo mcc
I had a blast.
Hope the injured riders make a quick recovery.
-
The question is Scunge....would you have beaten your homo brother?
-
Out of curiosity, how many entries were there?
-
Yes but then again the homo bro, in Christchurch, does not ride anymore.
As for the jaffa brother. Modesty stops me from commenting apart from saying "brrrrrrrrr, he my pigeon" (twIn speak). :) :D
See you next year at johnny old? Champagne spray pay, back?
-
For sure.....I didnt know you had 2 homo brothers....your poor mum. :D
-
Firko, not sure on actual numbers, but i reckon they were down a bit. There is usually a lot of local riders who ride their moderns in a separate class, but there was another meeting close by that clashed and would have taken some away giving the impression there wasnt as many riders there as usual. Big K will know the numbers for sure.
-

Looked like a great day out.
Joan,I am preparing the "champagne" for the Johnny Old as we speak......
-
Numbers were down at 66 riders, don't really know why. All grids had good numbers though and there was some good close racing. The pace was certainly on in most cases.
The big disappointment was the senior recreation class with not a single entrant, what a dud it's turned out to be! I don't know what that's telling us, but we will now re-hash the schedule to accommodate another class or 2 before the next round.

I didn't hold much hope for the rec class situation. However, most other classes I saw were well attended and a good day was had by all. Combining classes has proven to be a winner (evo AP was great refer side on shot) and post 90 continues to be a hit. I wish I could ride more classes but I'm stuffed doing what I do, a big thanx to big k and gruber and bendigo Mcc for providing what was the best groomed ravo I have seen in my tender years
