Title: Bruce Springsteen - true rock legend
Post by: Hoony on March 29, 2013, 09:49:49 am
Saw Bruce at rod laver 2 nights ago played 3 hours non stop with no support act rolled out the early  classics born to run, jungleland, tenth avenue freeze out, Lost in the flood, etc as well as later stuff Dancing in the dark right up to wrecking ball latest album. awesome mind blowing gig. completely sold out show, even all the seat BEHIND the stage.

if anyone has tix to last 2 oz gigs at Hanging rock in Vic you are in for a treat.

hard to imagine any of the new generation fakes and wannabees playing a 3 hour show at 64 let alone still playing after 45 years.

Lucky prick.......I tried to get tickets for the Sydney show but was too late as were friends who were buying tickets for me for my birthday. All of the reviews back your experience, some groovy young "dude" on the V channel reckoned it was the best show he'd ever been to. He said that he really didn't want to go but it was a work gig and couldn't get out of it. He couldn't find anyone amongst his mates that'd go with him on his free media tickets so he took his Mum and he reckoned that she became 20 again for the duration of the show.

I'm lucky enough to have seen Springsteen back in late 1975 at the Roxy in LA. 4 hours of a young up and coming Springsteen in a small 500 head room was a true experience, damn that band was good :o. This was post 'Greetings from Asbury Park' and 'The Wild, the Innocent and E street Shuffle' but possibly just before the 'Born to Run' album came out but they were playing some of the songs from Born....especially a memorable version of Jungleland which brought the house down. A couple of months later he was a superstar playing football stadiums.

Disappointed doesn't come close but in the end it ain't the end of civilisation as we know it, there'll be plenty more opportunities to chuck some skids. I'll instead spend the money HBBB would have cost me on a new exhaust system for the Jag. I'd like to be doing Springsteen and Barnesy with you!
