Title: New Welding Helmet
Post by: FAT-TOY on March 20, 2013, 12:54:44 pm
I need to get a new welding helmet (auto darkening)  I have a couple of the cheaper chinese type but they are not much good and with my eyes deteriorating they are at the stage where I can only see the arc right at the contact point and its getting harder to put the weld exactly where I want it.
I have the magnifying lens fitted or I wear glasses but its not helping that much, the quality of the helmet is just not good enough or maybe the auto lens is starting to break down.  I have used mates and its great but its old and I can't find any makers ID on it.  I can't be the only one on here who has had this problem so what type of mask is the best and how much do they cost.

I got a UNIMIG auto helmet through Alltools. best money I have ever spent, got it on special for $85. It has thirteen different setting and a grinding setting as well.
