OSSA Phantoms are truly great bikes but boy, this one sure needs some love and attention. I reckon the tank might even be toast looking at the spider web cracks in it. The throttle looks savable though ;D.

The Price looks sensible thou Firko so you can afford to throw a few bucks at her plus it is a runner  ;D

Yeh Mick

What is going on with the Ossa brand just a few years ago could not give them away then last week the Silver frost special 4 speed MX over here sells for $3000

Then on the race tracks around Aus maybe 4  are out of the sheds being used

Cheers

A mate gave me a 6 days years ago, it was disassembled and left in the elements.

i stripped the crankcases down, totally unaware of the shims issue and chucked em all into a box!

When i found out the significance of the bloody things i was distraught. Then i got quotes for parts... :o

Then i saw a road regoed one for sale for $1K so i gave it away for $100 bucks :-\ kind of wished i had hung on to it

I well remember that red OSSA Mick, my trigger finger was hovering around the Buy it Now button but somebody (possibly Jim) had told me that you were bidding on it so I backed away. It turned out that we both missed it ::)

At $1000 U.S. now + $1000 shipping (depending on where u are) + easy $2000 resto = $4000.......pass.

I can't see how $4k is too much for a good/great pre75 250 that is ready to race. Good green stripes get that and sometimes more.

Yeah that was a real dumb post, but I might have been a bit optomistic with the $2k resto...

That's a pretty good buy. You could tidy that bike enough for race conditions for probably $1500 or in a good presentable condition for $2500 so you'd still be under 5k for a the classic OSSA.

Agree a Phantom is the best race bike Ossa made over the years

Worth a place in most VMX Sheds   ;D    ;D

Y'know I never had much interest in OSSA's until sitting down one day in the early 90's to have a yarn with my dear old mate Phil Young. His sheer enthusiasm for the marque made me look a bit further into them and I soon realised just how sweetly simple they are. I bought a tragic basket Phantom case that'd been in the weather for 30 years and made a start on it but it was too big a job to get it to the standard that I would have wanted so I donated it to Phil and that became the nucleus of his flat tracker/road racer. If I was to go down the OSSA road again I'd love a Stilleto just for the looks or one of those cool little Champion framed OSSA ST's.
