Title: Yamaha DT1 Pistons
Post by: DCPlasticsguy on March 13, 2013, 07:57:43 am
Hey Guys,
I have a 1970 Yamaha DT1 that is bored 1.5mm oversize. I see that the Wiseco 1.50mm and 2.00mm oversize pistons are pretty much dried up. Would there be any interest in having a run of these made? I would have (6) 1.5mm and (6) 2.0mm oversizes available.

I don't want to have them made if I have to sit on them for five years.

I'll play devils advocate.......Don, I've found is that we'd rarely want to take our DT1 cylinder out that far. Because they're reliable old buggers most that I've seen haven't gone past second or third bore, 1mm would be tops. If you find one that is 1.5 or 2mm over and you need to replace a piston, there are plenty of replacement cylinders out there with plenty of bores left. It'd be nice to have the big bore option but I wonder how many folks are 1: building/riding/racing piston port DT1's and 2: how many of those that are, need a piston that big?............Just my 2c worth.

Thanks Firko. That's pretty much what I was thinking. Just not enough racers out there to warrant the overbores.

I could use 1 or 2 kits of the 2mm. What kind of price are we looking at? Or we can trade?
