Title: The Great Dummy-Spit Sale
Post by: Tony T on March 09, 2013, 10:44:02 am
It's happened again.......  ::)
I've bought bikes cos they were a good deal, but reality sets in again and I'm never going to get to ride them seriously.
So:

1978 PE250C: SOLD - PENDING PAYMENT

1981 YZ125H: Cosmetically very ugly, but mechanically pretty good. I've ridden it and the engine is tight and the suspension has good damping.
$750.00 for this weekend only. If there's no interest at that, I'll tart it up with plastics etc and put it back on the market for more.  ;)

1973 XL250 Motosport: Another ugly one, but it has an excellent, quiet engine that blows no smoke. Brand new chain and sprockets, new air filter element, excellent pipe. Starts really easily and runs nicely.
BUT: there is a slight oil leak from the front of the head gasket. (one nut was loose) I tightened it, but the leak persists. The shift lever is welded to the shaft. The seal doesn't leak (yet)
It owes me more, but $650.00 for the next couple of days and if it doesn't sell, I'll do more work on it before putting it back up for sale.

Might be able to help with transport between here and Victoria.

Send me an email or pm for more in for or more photos.

NO, the Ossa is not for sale, but I do have some spares that I'll put up tomorrow along with some other junk that I'm sick of looking at.  ;)

Say it ain't so Tony.......A pattern is emerging here ::). I'd be keeping the PE, just keep it up the back of the shed leaning against one of the Mercs, ready for that occasional vinduro that might happen on a weekend when you aren't snapping Trent and Skye's wedding.........Having said that I'm putting together a little get rid of of list myself.

All that does is remind me how little I get to ride these days and that just shits me!  >:(

Who's Trent & Skye?

Who's Trent & Skye?
Tiffany and Brett, Leticia and Tristan, Sally and Sam, or in these enlightened times Tom and Jerry. Same wedding, different names ;).

Tony, i reckon you should keep that PE as well. surely you cannot let that go for the $1500 + you want for it? what happens if thngs change and you get a weekend free where all the planets align and you have no bike !  ::)

Save one well two Tony !!!I have and I like you, work every weekend.  You must having a bike sitting there you can at least fire up and ride up the driveway , hearing the engines sick death rattles, breathing the reeking oil smoke enriched with pure carbon monoxide , whilst all the time dreaming of a competition that yes will come. Would be far far less depressing than nothing .zilch. zero, SFA. ;) Tim754

Keep the PE Tony....do what Firko says....put it down the back out of the way.....or sell a Merc....or the children...cars take up too much room anyway.

Leave me alone you bastards!!!  :D :D :D

I'm not going to be bikeless. I've still got the Ossa, the DR and the Elefant...... for now......  ;)

T\Anyway, the way the market is, you can't give the shit away, so it might end up being stashed waaaaaay down the back of the yard yet.   ::)

Buy em, sell em, fix em, dont fix em, fork em, fork em off, do whatever it is that makes ya happy on the day. There is a time for everything, if someone is selling something its because their time with that item has passed. There's always something else just around the corner  ;) :)

Strangely, that's the one I have the most connection with. At least I raced one of those back then.
I've never raced a PE or had a particular affinity with them. It was just a good, cheap, reliable thing to have in the shed. Not sure why now........  ::)

Regardless, all are definitely for sale.

If you cant get rid of it, put it up as a prize for a raffle at Harrow....that would raise some cash!
