I have a really nice 1988 Honda CR250 bike I'm going to put up for sale soon. The person I bought the bike from was friends with Steve Simons and Paul Turner. Paul Turner was a Honda factory mechanic and he ran Honda's Quad racing program in the U.S. Turner gave him some (and he gave them to me) really trick factory Honda parts that will fit the CR, but I think they were adapted from his leftover trick TRX parts bin.
Anyone here into the Quad Racing scene back in the 80's? The big bore cylinder is a work of art.

Did the quad thing start in the late eighties then? I don't even remember seeing any quads over here. I got out of racing mx and from the bike shop I worked at at the end of 87 and lost interest for years afterwards.

It was popular in the US throughout the 80's. As far as MX bikes go I missed the entire decade of the eighties. :(

And Trikes, we imported ATC 250Rs from the US before Honda did, since we had Stockton Dunes to play in
ATC 185s just didn't cut it
I was at the LA Colesium SX when SUZUKI launched the Quadracer

Growing up in the 80s I can remember watching them around echo valley, Suzuki was the pick of them and would live to get a hold of an old quad racer & they were even used in the geoff udy stunt team jumping cars & things
