Sorry, I missed this when you posted it Paul......That's indeed my bike in the top photo but it was on its way down here three weeks ago, dunno what that's all about, seeing that I bought it on November 11 last year! I actually picked it up today and while it's indeed a rare piece of kit, its pretty rooted. The engine's locked solid, the tank's wrong and it's got the wrong rims and exhaust. The seat base is rusted to the shithouse and pretty much beyond use but....try and find another one, I reckon it'll be a pretty straight forward resto, I've located a late 50's 175 tank which I believe is the right one. I was going to keep it unrestored but it's unfortunately a bit too rough for that, so I'll do it properly. I won't be getting around to doing it for at least a year or possibly more so it's going into storage in my mates warehouse along with some other bikes that I'm not using. I'll concentrate on my pre 65 360 Maico project and dirt track tackle for the present. That's a decent stash of oval Maico gold there Paul...the USA or German

Hi Firko, I am pretty certain that your tank in question is from a rare 1959 200cc Ducati model known as the Elite 200

If you are you replacing the rims on that old Maico Firko? Name your price for the old ones?

That's cool, I thought I recognised the tank but couldn't nail it. I'll put it on USA eBay for stupid money and see where it goes. I'll then put that money towards the right tank.
