Baz - have you tried Vintage Suzuki, Dirt overstock (pipes) and there is an english company (of course I can't remember but will dig it up) that does CDIs. Also - how did you go with Suzuki - not sure on the X but so much of the Z stuff was still available.
cheers

Thanks Rossco

With the "81 RM250x, sold a bitsa 2 or 3 years ago & the mains are housed in an alloy ring that must be somehow cast separately into the case. Don't know the reason behind this but ours had broken one side into say 3 pieces. Gave up in the end as parts were [are] scarce. Just saying-be careful. Seen it heaps over the years [with some yamaha's [yz125f i recal of mine], plus customers bikes where they have put mains in & bugger me it's still got up & down [whole ring is loose in case trick]. In Yam case & probably Suzy, the case is cast over the edge of it so the problem won't be very obvious at first [except our "81 had smashed its way out which was how we bought it [albeit still assembled] The old buyer beware trick. Wat's the word-caveat emptor or something. Actually it was the old "Dad We Have To Have It" Trick, then--it's your problem AHHH.

-
Well i've had a win and found another bike, now all i need is
Airbox either complete or just the outside covers, 82 or 83 will work
rear brake rod/cable
brake stay, would you believe both bikes have had the brake stay cut
left hand footpeg spring
sprocket cover
muffler section of exhaust
Bike will then be complete
Cheers Barry
-
Got a brake rod,if you are after the alloy one that goes from the frame to brake plate ???
May be able to help you out with some other bit's and pieces.
-
do you mean the brake stay, if so that would be great
