Heh, now that's a wild rig. I've seen a few of those, I think there's a couple racing here in Oz.
I love the CAUTION notice...
-
impressive Chris , I like it . What is the swingarm of ?
Looks like a KDX 400 one
-
No worries ,looking at the sprocket mounting i think its a YZ hub ??? but i may well be wrong .
-
Nice bike that one, it doesn't look all out of place like many of these bikes do. I think the swingarm's off a KLX 250 Kawasaki Walter, not a KDX and the rear wheel is XT/TT Yamaha (so's the front).
The framework's really well done, makes the bike much slimmer and presumably lighter.

No, that tank's from an MX250/400 B, the HL uses YZ125 X tanks. The 250/400 tank is getting hard to find however.

Here's a couple more off road XS650's

Seige's XS650 above ,wondering which class it could be raced in Australia?
Do like the XS off road/race hybrids I have seen and really like fact that they all seem to be being ridden! Tim754

Agree with that Walter, that is what the conclusion I came to also. Mmmm lovely 67j there would be a heavy weight pre75 for sure!

I reckon it'd fit into our Evo or with a different swingarm pre 78 or even pre 75 depending on the engine #.

Is there a bike in the photo????????
-
The only projects I see me doing on the VMX stage now, is either a hybrid XS650 (Need just about all :( ) or CB754 solo (not to short on parts... ;) or another CB500 solo like the one I built 15 years ago but lost in a fire.

This thread has given me some idea's, anyone got a spare Suz T500 engine and a pre 75 motocross rolling chassis? 8-)

Need to get rid of the flat slide carby as well.
-
Go for it John, the T500's can be turned into rocket ships and there's a shipload of info out there on how to.
I've got one similar Suzuki Twin project and an out of left field one on the drawing board at the moment but they'll be built for Dirttrack, Flattrack, Shorttrack, Longtrack, Grasstrack or whatever's on.

Return of the titans ! cool ;D

John Finding a spare T500 or GT500 that someone wants to part with, will be the first eeeeeenormous hurdle. ;)

Had one t500 titian got it for next to nothing half did it up sold it to a collector in Sydney for a bit more than nothing regreteted it ever since.
