A couple of days in the shed and I'm full of new questions...... sorry....... ::)
Has anyone out there got a centre stand on their PE?
I've got a PE250C that has had the side stand and bracket removed but the centre stand brackets are there, so I'm thinking that might be cool seeing as I have to manufacture something to stop it falling over. :D
I'm looking for detailed photos and even measurements if that's at all possible.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

theres a pe250 c/n with the headstem oxyed off so be no problem getting the sidestand bracket and maybe sidestand,pm me if you want to know more
-
I think only the floater had a center stand none of the other pe's it is pretty basic bracket for the sidestand.
-
I know that the 'N' 175 and 250 had an optional centre stand.
The brackets are on the frame ready to bolt on.
And because mine has no side stand bracket on the frame, I thought it might be a cool way to go.
Finding one might be an issue though..... :-\

i recond they'd be like finding hens teeth or rocking horse shite ;) ;D

Hey Tony
If the centre stand brackets are there you should manufacture your own centre stand.
I have a maico centre stand and SWM centre stand in the shed , i could take some pic's if you like to give you an idea .
Wouldnt take you more than a couple of hrs if you had the spare time to manufacture it

Hey Tony
If the centre stand brackets are there you should manufacture your own centre stand.
That's the plan. ;D
I don't expect to be able find the real deal (or be able to afford it if I did! ::) )
This is the only photo I've been able to find so far, so if you've got 5 to grab a couple of pics, that would be good.

KTM had the best system with double side stands that folded into a center stand..... now that was cool
-
go to my skydrive.
go under Optional Centre Stand

enough photos there for you.
250B no centre-stand. it was the RM250B frame in every way (and in chrome-moly)
the 175C/N and 250C/N had the centre-stand. I got mine NOS from SuziParts.
T/X had no centre-stand.
the Z/D/E had one too - though different.
see the photos.

Fantastic! Just what I need.
Thanks a lot, Luke. ;D
I used to deal with Suziparts a lot, but after years of excellent service from him, I questioned the $400+ price tag of a piston and was told if I didn't pay that, I wouldn't get one.
So I bought one from Germany for $225.00 landed...... ::)

Thanks to Carl Fuller at Betta Bikes in Adelaide, I got an old KTM stand and with minimal modifications, it works a treat.
The mounts to the frame were perfect so I just needed to make the whole thing narrower and shorten and tweak he legs a tiny bit.
It's held up by a spring that has to be manually attached, but that's the way the standard PE one works and it's way better than having the thing banging around while riding.

very, very nice!
enquiring minds want details - which KTM?
-
Thanks Luke.
I'll get some more pics and details asap.
I actually have no idea what model KTM it came off, but I think it was off a 90's bike and I'll try and find out more info.
Carl Fuller, who suggested this stand as a starting point, used to be a Suzuki rep so maybe he could see how it might work.
Or more likely, the old bugger was just lucky. ;D ;D ;D
