Nope no rain or mud.  It was our first hot day so far this year, 95f (when it had been in the 70's) and not a shade tree for 20 miles.

I'm not a Maico guy, but how many of those damn '81 490's did they make?  There must be at least twenty five in our small group.

Dont know much about Maico, with the risk of sounding stupid i will ask anyway.

Are the blue and black Maico's painted in a standard factory colour?

No.  The one that was for sale is what an original looks like.  The others have '78 alloy tanks and are painted custom colors.

They are some really cool looking Maico's. Love the one with the Candy Red paintwork and grey frame. What's the attraction with the '78 tanks on the 81's? Never seen so many 490's in the one place!

The metal tanks can be painted the custom colors, where with the plastic tank you are stuck with the stock red.

The 74 1/2 is nice but I do like '81s and Candy Apple Redas a colour. I've owned a couple of 81s over the years.
