Title: yamaha tank...

hi chaps....just wondering if anyone out there can identify this tank...an old bloke had given  it to me about three year ago...has no numbers names..he told me it was off a yamaha yz.....cheers  :)

MX250/400B & YZ250/400C also fits the MX250/360/SC500

you could be right about the c model cyclegod cause it has some yellow paint underneath the old bubbled up white paint....

Definately YZ Yammy but exactly which one is a little hard to tell. Its not the early ones that were strap on because of the mount at the back.

But other than that it could be from a range of YZ's of the period down to the YZ80. We might be able to work it out if you showed another pixie or gave the length. But as God points out it probably YZ250/360c.

I would give you are fair price if you are interested in selling.

IT IS A YAMAHA 1975 MX250/400B - 1976 YZ250/400C TANK.

WHILE were on it - dO THE 250/400b  MX MODEL TANKS FIT STRAIGHT ONTO THE mxA 'S ALL 3 ?

YES YES YES  ;D ;D ;D ;D  I bought a dead straight YZ250C alloy tank and its a perfect fit on my MX250, I bought it for a custom coloured job I intend to do to the MX later.

does that include the MX 250/400B cause they seems to turn up a lot and are ali as well aint they, oo and cheaper.

They look the same, but i dont want a side cover repeat :O)

The only thing different was the decal/paint/colour scheme, they fit DT etc too

naar thats a crime, at least the other ones at least look period, like the yZa tanks.

Is it just me but dont the tanks on the vintage bikes look great? theres something about them when you look at them?
I have had new bikes but I cant find one of them that does the same thing?
What do you reckon is the best looking petrol tank, which makes you go weak at the knees?
