I'm trying to decipher some keihin needle codes ??? ???
Anyone know which is the leanest out of this bunch: N2ZW, N2ZJ, N2ZK, N2ZL.
Anyone know how to read the codes?

Thanks Tim,
Good easy to understand explination, and it seems I'm on the right track.
The codes must be KTM specific (for a new 300 :) ) Unfortunately the manual doesn't advise on how to determine which needle is richer and what is leaner.

With a KTM the needles get leaner as you get further down the alphabet.
A= rich Z= lean

Any idea what the number and the second letter are, as the spares kit also has a N8RW, N3RJ and N3RK...I think, (I'm at work right now.)
I ended up getting the verniers out last night and measuring them all at 3 identical points to find the thickest, which I think would be the leanest, and dropped that in. That has cleaned it up somewhat but stll blubbery at about 1/2 to 3/4 throttle, set on middle clip.
