I am preparing a 465 yammie for dirt track and I am wondering what the difference in performance would be after removing the tourqe box from the inlet manifold.
Does anyone have any experiences with this?
Good or Bad ???

well try it with the t/box blocked and unblocked and see for yourself,a small cork should do the job available from clarke rubber ;)

I agree with trying it for yourself but I'd be using more than a small cork if it were my bike. If it falls out when you are test riding it, the motor will run mighty lean and probably sieze pretty quickly.

The fact Yamaha ditched it after one model speaks volumes I reckon.
Theory behind it's good just does't seem to work in practice.
I know of guys who have the "Boost Bottle" there for looks & originality but are blocked off inside.
Told they're easier to tune.

have raced identical yz465s one with boost bottle one without
the one without was snappy out of corners and felt faster
the one with it was smooth and felt slower
but lap times were the same ;D
funny how all the works bikes back then ran them
you would think with all ther r&d if it didnt work they would turf it
i have one on my RN500 replica works great noticed differance straight away
more bottom to mid range power ;)

Excluding the talk box* from the shed helps.
