I don't know a lot about mid 80's Katos but reckon this has to be a good bargain. It's already dismantled to ship home as a parts bike too.

'86 KTM 500mxc...I bought this as a non-running complete, now in a disassembled status for a project a couple months back. Stuff has come up and the project isn't going to happen. I have put this bike on here cheap a couple times before, maybe it is a clunker?... Someone rescue it before it goes into the landfill. I don't have the time for parting it out, so this is the last shot. Pic is when I brought it home.$350.

Just needs a VMC chassis and it makes a great sidecar crosser.

Taa Daa :D Thanks mate! Still would be a good solo at a fair price!!!
That outfit is so easy on the eye :) One if not the only factory pre90 I would love to own and ride!
-
That be Bernies old bike...?..
-
Hey Hoony ,Confess we never had a grab-rail/control arm like the one fitted to the outfits mudguard in photo three!
Can you answer EML's question about the sidecars ownership?
Just $350usd for the solo so tempting.... sidecar chassis already hanging on my shed wall.....stop it Tim >:( 8)

yes it was Bernard's bike, the 86' model he still owned it and i rode it with Rob Duke in the chair for the 87' season when Bernard went to Europe. Bernard bought back the 87' model from Europe when he returned to Oz.
i don't know where either bike ended up.

I thought so, doesn't look the same without the steam coming out like at Raymond tce :D
His '87 outfit had the same fugly tank as that cheapo one in the US. That is very good buying though I would prefer to know that all the bits were there before I bought it.
Tim, what frame do you have on the wall?
