Just discovered what looks like a loose main bearing in my crankcase.
What is the solution to properly locate it in the housing?

I have had a set of cases repaired in regards to gearbox bearings. The guy that did the repairs got a new bearing and closed the ends up, then put it in a zinc(?) bath and built up the O.D. he would pull it out periodically and measure till he got the required size. You could machine out and put a sleeve in as well. Specialist stuff thats for sure.

An easier way {although a bit rough} is to centre punch the bearing housing in a couple of places.p

Loctite - have a product called quick metal ( 660 retaining compound ) used by the mines when shafts are worn - hardens to doudle the strength of a press fit.
Able to fill an area of .5mm full strength in 2 hours

Thats the silver tube that comes out as a paste rather than liquid? Have 1 of my rear hubs for the CZ done that way

ive used loctite hi strength super retaining compound with good results,use their primer as well for a oil free surface ;)

Thanks, I tried the centre punch trick when I assembled it.Guess it didn't work ::)
When I pull it apart I will give the locktite a go ;)
