Title: 490 engine number

Going to look at a 490 motor( IT\YZ ???). Guy says engine No. starts either 43R or 34R.Cant find what model it is anywhere. Anybody any clues.

43R is YZ490N. 1985.
That's about all I know...................  ::)

I'll go along with Tony on this one.

My Zedder software lists 43R as YZ490, 34R is a roadie

Thanks guys.Dropbears had '85 N listed as 57H . So did the 490's change much thru years.

57H is a 490, according to Zedder it looks like an 85 and, from another scource the 43R looks to be an 84

Don't know much about 490's, ask me about big singles with valves tho :D

Where are youi from kiwi64? I'm from Wgton originally
