Well I tried clear coat on my new GMC pipe - dried it out per instructions, cured it as per instructions. Took it for a ride and now got dirt and shit stuck to it everywhere >:( Clear coat a total WOFTAM.
That would never happen to a chrome pipe ;D ;D GMC pipe improved performace through the roof. I am stoked :o :o :o

And I thought he was smoking your pipe all this time. He'll, he even relocated to be closer to you.

I usually skim over the pipe with vaseline and a green scourer, works fantastic and leaves protective coating. See how you go.

pe sicko, I used a similar method on my x mrs. maybe that's why she left me? I thought it was the 30 bikes I had?
-
You guys are nuts getting rid of your stock pipes..... ::)

Meh .... Surplus to requirements, an average example and another thing I don't have to move back to Brissie.
I understand what you are saying though.

Forget the so called "heat proof" clear coats and use a good quality 2K clear (the same as you'd put on your car), no stickiness & very little if any discoloration.

You beat me to it Firko was thinking the same thing as I read down the post, only cost 17 bucks as well.

That is an other obvious solution. I was trying to display Geoff's handywork (which I think is amazing). Flat black just doesn't do it justice IMHO.
