I can't see any difference really ;D
Looks good!
-
It's perfect - don't do a thing. Those lightweight tyres especially - I might be able to beat you if you stick with them!
:D
PS: Nice work.
-
Beautiful job well done 8) 8)
-
Thats looking great well done 8) im a pre 78 man at heart but i have to say since i went to Farleigh last year i have a new found appreciation for a well presented pre 90 bike :)
-
Awesome. :o
-
Great work it looks very nice indeed!
-
LOL Nath.... don't ever underestimate the lightweight tyres... :P
That's your old frame under there too.... ;D
-
That looks incredible! well done to that man. Now we just need to get David McSwain (Vic. No. 1 from around that era ) out of retirement to ride one again...would be good to see him against Dean Burt and others.
-
Very noice Hardo can't wait to see it hit the track ;D
Cheers
Shaun

Awesome job Hardo, you should try and come to some QVMX events this year...Conondale Classic and Echo Valley.....you wont feel out of place either...theres plenty of "Green" up here...I just scored on my Xmas road-trip a blue front number plate, tank and shrouds off a 89 500....there mint, look like they came off a pretty new Fink bike (got them in Whyalla)....well done again.
-
Looks awesome! good to see you got those blue number plates.
-
Few people have a gift for building bikes that are IMHO 11 out of 10 and Hardo is one of the few 8) The attention to detail is outstanding :) looks better than they did when new , i had one and it never looked as good as that :)
-
Wow... thats a big wrap coming from you mate. Thanks though - I will take the compliment. ;D
I was going to wait until it was 100% before posting up some pics - but it got the better of me!
TM Bill - I have had your name favourably mentioned to me by a fellow VMX'er here in Sydney and I have a question for you.... PM has been sent. :)
-
Isn't this guy good!!! So glad my old parts bike went to a good home 8) 8) 8)
P.S. Luv the trick looking blue rims ;)
Well done mate
Ando

-
Cheers Mick. Coming from a guy with the trickest looking TT on the track - I'll take that compliment!
I am thinking Pre-90's for the Nat's now! ;D
-
Update: I finally got around to throwing some coolant and oil in 'er....
.....she started on the 2ND KICK !! WOOHOOOO !!!!!
Couldn't believe it.... it actually idled straight off the start. Very satisfying.
Sounds great too... can't wait to rip up the tracks with the Pre-90 guys this year. :)
-
Hey Hard on
Nice restro won't look the same after all the 500's roost it up the hill at Lakes ;D
Love Hugo xxx
-
congrats - that looks fantastic. Just wondering who did your number plate graphics and also fork graphics
-
Cheers guys... yes I love the way it looks. :) free rides for the next hour.... :P
LOL Hugo.... yeah I know... I was blue/black with bruises the last time I chased Carl Blecher's CR500 up all the Lakes' uphills ...
The backgrounds were by ebay seller motosportservices, or something like that (UK Seller). They do special orders with the numbers integrated into it.

Hardo,
Nice resto buddy. Can you tell me where did you get the blue plastics from? They give the bike a really nice finish. Well Done.
Gibo.

Fark you did a good job!
Any updates? Do you have any progress pics?
-

Took this pic at the RD 1 HEAVEN NSW inter-club meeting with NDMCC Pre-90 club Last month.

Awesome job mate!!!
-
great resto , I think I can make a bike look good but I would struggle to get one up to that standard . The '89 KX250 is an awesome bike & would be my pick as a pre 90 race bike
-
Righteo guys - I replaced the stator with a new unit and whall-a ....
It now starts easily, runs beautifully and I actually RODE it around yesterday....
Thankyou to all that helped me out - especially Bob & Liam B ... ;)
Happy days !!! ;D ;D ;D

The bike looks great, I'm just about to start on an '88 model, I don't intend on the cosmetics being as good as yours.
-
OMG Mick ... that would take some time to fault find !! :o >:( :-\
Oh and John, I'll bet it will still be the goods mate ,,, I have seen some of your green fleet...
I'd kill for one of your A5's .... ahhhh one day.... :-[
