Nice bike but that Inter Scout is a gem. What mechanicals are you running? I once saw one with a 340 Mopar/Torqueflite combo.

my Scout's running the original 345ci International V8 (as used in ACCO trucks), apart from the engine they used mostly Chrysler running gear, the 727 Torqueflight and Dana diffs and transfer case is original. i had thought of swapping the engine for a 440ci Mopar bigblock as its a fairly straight forward conversion, but the Inter V8 is the perfect tow engine, max torque at 1800rpm and redlines at 3800rpm... its like a diesel V8 on steroids. its a lot of fun without the roof, removing the steel roof on the shortwheel base is a 30 minute job, but you have to leave it home.... so i usually leave it of for most of the summer months, unless its raining of course :D

Would be even better to see the bike in the back of the scout and not on the trailer 8)

the SWB Scout is too short, i'd have to leave the tailgate open and have the rear wheel hanging out and even then it would be close, but then i'd have to remove the rear seat.
has anyone tried useing those sideways MX bike carriers that slot into the towbar mount ?

Thats basically what a lot of guys over here in NZ use for carrying their trials bikes, mine is a bit different in that it has loops/slots for the wheels to sit in & a pole at the front that clamps around the fork leg to hold the bike. I have 2 small braces that slide into tubes under the back of the car to remove twisting around the towbar mount
1 of my clubmates has his so that it tilts for loading & the tiedowns hold it flat when the bike is mounted
The only guys I've seen using them for mx bikes seem to be juniors/minis but I don't see any reason that it wouldn't work for a full sized bike.
My only concern would be that all the weight & twisting forces are being transferred through a single piece of 50x50 box

Before you buy check your cars Tow ball weight specs from the Towbar shops
Last year all but brought one for a VMX bike then found my large van had a rating of 80 kgs on the ball piss weak no go with a 200 kg bike mounted on the ball as its not the cars towing capacity but the ball rating
