Gday, I have a RM 400T and found it impossible to find a new conrod when I was restoring the bike. Serco in Brisbane said if worst come to worst and I couldn't find one he would reuse the old one. My question is with all the RM 400's that are around how to people rebuild their engines? Do some people have contacts that can reproduce them? If they can't obtain it how do people with these bikes keep riding them in the future?

I seem to recall someone fitting some Yamaha (or was it Maico)rod to his 400-T. Not being a Suzuki guy I didn't take much notice at the time. Someone will know.

You will ocaisionally find nos rods on eBay but they go for big money. I had the same problem with my RM370 recently and ended up using the old rod which was still ok with a new pin, bearing and thrust washers.

There's 1 of the vmxers here in NZ that sometimes has billet rods that he's made up, I'm sure either Bazza or Suzuki59 may be able to put you in touch with him to see if he could copy a batch off
This is the guy who made the very trick yza clutch activater & powervalve aircooled yz250 that there were photos of from the first johnny old vmx
This is a listing of his & is what you're looking for I assume, see if you can use profile to contact him
