wouldn't mind the clutch ;), :P
-
That bike has Freak written all over it.
-
If you've got a lazy 4k you won't find a better example than this one, presuming it's as nice inside as it is outside. Why root around building one when this little bike has it all?
-
Yep it's a nice bike for sure.. Price is good too but really only once a year ride for us. Later model frame lets it down a bit for me.
I'm short of motors at the moment, I need one to put in that pre 60 Hagon of mine and my latest scoop my early jawa Longtrack roller....
Have too many frames and not enough motors, I need to raid some from the horders.....

Jim, there aren't any pre 60 legal Jawas unless you're referring to a 250 Californian :D. Pre 65 for sure.

when i say hoarders i meant those guys who have more motors than frames..... specially in stands on benches and shelf doing nothing. :)

We don't have to go to Belgium Jim, there's someone we know that'd match that easily ;D.

That was the hint Firko.....
It's like tank collectors, fair game you should limit how many bikes you stop being complete and raced.....

A hoarder to you is a collector to the bloke next to you. If you knew the bloke with all of this stuff you'd realise that he's a dedicated racer and that the collection is only a small part of what he's about. He's arguably the fastest 2 valve slider and pre 65 dirt tracker in the country and his engine collection has focus and a reason for its existence. Basically, he's amassed the best collection of Jawa 2v-4v conversions and different variations on the 2v Jawa motor in Australia, possibly even the world. Much of what he's got is exotica that wouldn't be raced no matter who owns it so we should be happy that the stuffs in Australia and not stuck in a box under someones bench in Hungary or Sweden. Jonesy's collection has very little to do with you not being able to find a 2 valve Jawa. They're out there, you just have to ask the right question to the right person at the right time ;D.
-
dont worry firko im still asking, im still asking...... but im just all framed up for now.
and i get what your saying, but still in every state there is another 5 guys doing the same thing.... its a compounding issue even if there hearts in the right place. im not just singling out him, its just the concept im referring to.
-
Sorry Freaky but I'm with Firko on this one. Those motors are collectors items. One will come along,....right place, right time and right $$$ ;D
That Hagon Jawa is a nice bike and for 4k is a good buy if the motor is sound
hmmm nice,very nice cheers Mark

That's a good price, but more importantly a good combination of frame and cycle parts.
By the way I brought a 890 motor in from the UK three years ago and by time it landed at my door it owed me $2500, then I had to put a pipe, carb and mag on it. So you may want to rethink the value you are puting on these bikes/engines.
-
4k is the starting bid but I'll very be surprised and heap jealous if you actually win it for that.
I can't see that there is a reserve so if you're the only one bidding you might.
Best of luck mate, I hope you do.

Sprint we understand buying stuff from Os is fraught with danger, maybe put that down as a lesson. I agree somewhat, To my way of thinking any two valve motor that's. a strong runner or rebuilt since 1990 is worth two grand and down form there depending on its condition, what's missing and what bits you need to find to make it work.
I agree its a four k bike. Never said it wasn't , but I'm just saying I think that's its value and it's a fair buy.
The other two valve slider on eBay for seven is over priced by at least a few grand. I would value a normal speedway two valve Slider at 4k and a resto or real clean one at 5. Remember there is not a lot to them after you take out the motor and the frame.... Just saying

its gone did you get it freaky
-
Nah, I couldn't resist, look out Temora.
-
Thought temora was hard packed Nd no good for a slider to get around, or do you know something about the track
-
you are too young to understand about tyers freaky k70s my man
-
Jim's spot on there , Freaky, have a look at this,
http://www.dunloptyres.com.au/dotCMS/TyreDetailAction?website=DUN&websegmentcode=MOTORCYCLE&websegmentcode2=4&mtpcode=80121&from=nPerPage
These were the standard wear for most tracks in the '70s and were used by most of the aces of the day, sometimes, on the very hard tracks , like West Wyalong used to be, I used a Continental road bike tyre on the rear of me Hagon and the Elstar.
I still remember hooking onto the main straight at Wyalong with the tyre howling and smoking up, ditto at Temora BITD.
As far as hard oil being no good for sliders, ask Lennie Norris.
Hard pack oil IS different to race on compared to deco, but that is what it was like back then, plus it's just as much fun !!
