It's bloody rare as rocking-horse poo to find one NOS, do not doubt that.

Suzuki spares were hard to get when these bikes were new. Also their plastics weren't as good as Honda and Yamaha. I've seen PE's break the rear guard just with the weight of mud caught underneath :o. I think this adds to the rarity.

That kinda adds weight to the argument that things that are only rare because they were no bloody good!  :D :D

That's amusing Stewart. We've been watching the PE space for 6 years continuously and you make it sound like they are plentiful. They are not and never have been. Anybody wanting a NOS T/X rear guard is going to have to pay shed-loads or be very lucky indeed.

I reckon they would have sold heaps of new rear guards when new because if you flip a PE there is a very good chance the guard will break.

I have about 6 rear guards that would come up ok with a sand and polish and I have one NOS guard it cost me a bit though same as my nos Tank.

The original guards are fairly flexible though they bend quite easily left to right it is just they over hang so far.

Luke ... they are out there.... and yes I have bought one recently for a fraction of the cost of the one listed on ebay  ;).....  hint
 google  search  the part number  ;) ;)
I used to own these bikes new back in the day and did  4 hr and 6 hr enduros all year round without breaking a  single guard ....
From memory I had to replace  2 kicker idler gear in a Pe 175 T

It all depends when you look I have googled part numbers heaps if you do it at the right time yu might get lucky I got some nos fork boots for like $50 landed which are hard to find as well and I have boxes of nos indicators that I got for a good price.

Well I don't know but you can't buy one off the shelf anymore and that was a good one nice and shiny not sun faded.

It is the same with any bike/car hard to get parts go for big dollars my charger is missing the back dovetail stainless strip and I have been watching ebay they come on now and then but go for around $500 each time which is a lot for a piece of metal I know but I need to get one for my car or it will look incomplete.
