Title: 1988 YZ 250
Post by: whitey 43 on December 04, 2012, 11:43:23 pm
Im selling my 1988 YZ250.
Only reason for selling is that I want to change colour (Yellow).
The motor was fully rebuilt before the Pan Pac Masters & has not been ridden since.
Main Bearings,crank seals,rod kit,piston kit& gaskets all replaced.
Had new O.E clutch basket replaced about 5 rides ago & the inner hub modified for more oil supply to the centre plates.
All gears, shafts & shift forks are in good condition.
It has a 1989 U.S.D front end fitted, fully rebuilt with a genuine KYB rebuild kit.Alloy bars & billet throttle pull.
Bike has a near new Braking oversize rotor, & Honda caliper, braided brake line & Honda master cylinder.1 finger operation required...Best brakes I have had on any bike!
Rear caliper is also Honda, has better feel, plus oversize footpegs.
The bike has A Pro Circuit pipe & Silencer,Boyesen Rad Valve,Boyesen Ignition Cover,Answer Roost Boost,40mm Kehin carb modified by Duncan Racing (U.S.A),Twin Air Filters (x3).
Plastics are in good condition, apart from small melt mark on R/H number plate
Seat has small rip on R/H side where my boot catches occasionally.Needs a shock bearing kit (supplied with the bike).
Asking price is $4500 ono, p.m me for pics if interested.

Not wrong! 'Ole Dacka dominated on this beast! I think he even cleaned up over the ditch as well. I will post some pics I took yesterday, (after I de-stickered it) on my page as im crap with photo bucket.
Cheers,
Whitey.

Dacka did well on one and Liesk even rode one when they first arrived at the Perth Supercross from vague memory

Very slow moving, we've got super tidy 83 cr250, 89 kx250 & 89 cr250 at work, had for a while, reasonable $$ on them, no bites at all or even any real interest. Things are a bit tight on the $$ front for most ppl to spend on toys.

Not A good thing eh?
I guess I will just keep riding it & finish my RM a bit slower... Thanks for the input.
