montesa project bike. dont know what year or model it is. Been sitting around for years. Tried to track numbers but couldn't come up with any info. from size of bore I would believe it to be a 250cc. Piston stuck in bore. Amal carb on it but cracked. Has a very odd set-up for the handlebars, they attach right to the forks. Also the gas tank (fiberglass) has a strange lowered area around filler hole that was filled with bondo at one time, I peeled it out of there years ago when I thought it was a project i could handle, but the bike just needs too much for me to tackle. It has Akront aluminum rims in pretty good shape, spokes are rusted but the rims aren't all pitted up. Back wheel locked up but could just be the rusted chain holding everything tight. I do have the exhaust although not pictured. Would rather have someone who appreciates vintage bikes get it rather than the scrapyard. Ask any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Numbers stamped into the steering head are: R - (or maybe a P?) 404452 with a "G" stamped below it. Pick up only. Thanks for looking.

It's a 1965 Bultaco matador mk2 rolling chassis. 100%. That motor does not belong in that frame! The mk2 is a model 16. The early bully's frame/engine numbering did not always reflect the model number!

The engine looks like a 1966 series most likely an Impala 3M or Kenya 8M or less likely a LaCross 23M. The carbie seems to date it at '66 naturally that may not be original by a looooong shot ::).

Now it falls into place! It didn't look like any Monty I'd seen but now I look harder I can see the sum of its parts = shitbox ;D
