Some of you know I have just started building a yz125d
Just wondering what is the most popular class in VMX and a general opinion on what to expect in the pre 78 class?
How many riders etc.
Is 90 kg simply too heavy for the 125 class?
I only rode the bike once before stripping it and could not go hard as both wheels were buggered.
Seemed to have plenty grunt but just looking for some confirmation before I keep pouring money into it.
Normally I ride a 09 250f
Any opinions welcome
Thanks Paul

You'll be fine. All of the 'you need to be a jockey to race a 125' talk comes from people looking for excuses... :D
Last time I raced the Nationals, four of the top five placed riders in the pre-78 125 class were at least 85kgs. Most of them were on those shitbox Suzukis too, which handle well but have a motor that is well short of the best in the class (the 125D).
At HEAVEN events, most blokes in the class are full size: Noel, Snowy, Scotty, Oldstuff, crossedup2, Donny, me, etc etc. When I race in the all-in class, the blokes that beat me are better riders - their weigh is irrelevant.

Hi TFR,
The Evo & Pre 85 class in Heaven seems to be attracting the healthiest fields. The EVO all in can sometimes have an almost full start grid. Heaven run a 125, 250, >263cc & All in format for Pre 75, Pre 78, Evo and Pre 85 so with your 125 you would be able to run in the Pre78 125 & All In, giving you 2 races in the morning and 2 in the afternoon. You're not wasting your time at all. Make sure you have it ready for March when the new season starts. It will be the best fun you've had in years!

If you think you are too heavy, get yourself a Wasp. That's what all the old guys did in the day when they got too old and fat. :D

These 90 something lightweights on 125's just pure piss me off ;D
I am 115 TFR and can't blame the bike or my weight for my lack of performance ???
