Sorry for the quality - these are just samplers..  I'm travelling for work, so I filmed these snippets off the TV screen with my mobile phone..

Peter Payne at Canungra, Round 2 of the Yamaha Qld 6 Day Series, 1980

Dave Wagner (Snr.) at Canungra, 1980  (and a little bit if Terry Taylor at the beginning)

Fond memories. Thanks for posting those. I'm pretty sure I rode in that Canungra event (RM250C with alloy RM tank and SP370 motor) and keep a look out for my mate John Zordan (on his KLX250 or white tanked DR250 competition model).

I know there were a couple of KLX's on the film, and not sure about a DR250 though..

Pretty sure I saw an RM-C - I'll have to check if it has a 4-stroke motor..  I wish Dad's camera had had sound!

I'll see if I can do the "film from TV with mobile phone" trick again..

The only KLX's I could find:

Boonah

Canungra

Sorry, no luck on the RM-C...  There were a couple of RM's, but both still had 2-banger motors..

Hi Mike,

I hadn't thought that far ahead.  And to be quite honest, all I really know I have of old Enduro footage is the 18 minutes that I've already had converted.

I'm getting about 3 hours of old Family Super 8 converted.  Most, if not all of it will be holiday footage, us as kids playing at home, that sort of thing.

I've been told that Dad did have footage of the 1976 Boonah Enduro (Dad showed it back in the day to Paynie), and I'm hoping that and other bike stuff will be in there somewhere, but I really won't know till it's all converted.

But it all seems to be labelled between 1974 and 1980 (family and bike stuff)..

Anyway, I'll know more in a couple of weeks!   ;D

Thanks for posting those videos. I'm pretty sure my mate is the bloke manhandling that KLX up the rock step.

Was John Zordan the red-headed KLX guy?  (with a beard back then?)
