I'd presume they're drilled for late disk brake hubs and for that low price they'd have to be Chinese. Not all Chinese stuff is shit though, I use some Chinese bits on my bikes but from experience and from what I've seen elsewhere I haven't got a lot of faith in their rims.

Ok thanks
I will keep looking

I need a 21" 36 hole front rim off a D or E Yamaha pretty sure any early yamaha rim would lace up.

Any tips were to find one?

any wreckers nearby? if not, and if you're wanting a cheapy, try the local wheel rebuilder. They'll probably have an old rim off a wheel they've rebuilt that they'll sell you for $20.

They will be driied for moden spool hubs , and dont work well with old drum brake hubs without a bit of dicking around .

Here are photos of torpedo7 rims. Slight bend in rear spokes, but happy with results and a great price. I notice they have not got any more 18's at the moment. (http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n542/fastesthead/PB230036.jpg)

The problem with rims designed for late model bikes isn't so much the angles, it's the nipple diameter.
Also, 18x1.85s are getting hard to get hold of - I've been failing to find a source of new yellow-gold rims in that size for my CR125RH, and am about to buy a NOS wheel for stupid money...

I think that's the best way

I will email them and see if I can get a 18"

Another thought do you think 19" rear would fit?

You would have to get longer spokes. I am waiting for them to get some 18's in. I  bought a gold 21 and  mistakenly clicked on the gold 19 not noticing that the 18's were gone. They will let me send it back though. I just hope they get the gold 18 rear back in as I want them for my next project and don't want to get stuck with the front.

I wouldn't go to a 19 on a sub-12" travel bike, especially a 125.

The shorter travel bikes depend on tyre sidewall for suspension travel - the 125-suitable 19" tyres (100/90x19) are very low in the sidewall.
Its kind of ironic, but I reckon a 19" rear wheel would be a great move on an long travel VMX 125 - where the benefit of the lower weight isn't over-ridden by the loss of compliance.

Thanks for the input Nathan

I can probably live with my rear wheel and just order the front rim for now.

I really want to get a ride on this bike before I pour too much cash into it.

Not sure if I will be too heavy for it  :(
