I used to ride with a guy who rode one these and he went bloody quick in the tight single trail even when I was on a 125

Yer there was a few of us raced these in the start of the 84 Yamaha 6 day series up here in Qld.
They were cheap , fast and sounded great.
If they broke down you just slung them under your arm and walked. ;D
They went 71kg dry.
Peter Savage still has one that he rides.

For a while I've been thinking how much I'd like to build an enduro special out of a big wheeled RM80, but obviously plenty of folks had the idea way before me!

Got any photos?

I remember watching the Polish team put together their TM80s there were about 10 of them.  Works of art.

That is cool Noel, it's funny that just the other day I was talking to a mate about next years QVMX series with the 80cc class and he said he would love a big wheel RM80 from that era to race.

Nice, I raced RM80 big wheels in 100cc class MX in 83 and 84. The 84 we had stroked to 100cc by Dean Harrison using a Honda Rod and a Go kart Piston. It was one of the most competive bikes I ever had.  :)

So, what would you have to change aside from the wheels and guards? Longer forks?

Noel, check out these vinduro pics,

http://streetracker.blogspot.com.au/

There are no headings etc but he doesn't post very often.
Asside from the fact that there are far to many close ups of elderly mens faces (I guess that's what you get for scanning euro web sites!!!!) it looks pretty cool.
Check out the older posts to as there are some cool speedway photo's in there somewhere.

Cheers,
Steve
