Factory privateer bike For Sale with a OW250 engine (aircooled powervalve).
Rick Johnson had one of these for part of 1982 season.

1982 YZ 250 Air Cooled Power Valve machine. Jeff Jennings' Factory Support ride. You could not buy this bike in 82. Only factory or Support riders got these. Documented with copy of original contract between Jeff and Yamaha. The only air cooled power valve motor I know of. Supposedly only a dozen or so left in existence. Not really for sale, but could be bought. $10, 000 Curtis 816.797.2753

Looks pretty stock except for the barrel & head :)

Thats what I thought, standard "J" with a Works engine.
Maybe suspension would be better tuned than stock, running firmer springs.

I pay 3.5k just for the eingine but I dont want the rest
