Title: Fitting Mikuni to BSA B50
Post by: TM BILL on November 14, 2012, 02:46:08 pm
My Metisse witch is powered by a modified B 50 motor is currently running on methanol via an Amal concentric carb .

I want to probably fit a Mikuni ( with choke ) and run it on petrol or Av gas .

Does anyone have any experience of fitting a Mikuni and jetting specs to start with .

Any other suggestions re carbs are welcome , the reason for not running methanol are easier maintenence and i dont have a convienient supplier .

Thanks Bill

Hi,
these specs came from a CCM, to suit my 580, given to me from Rod Spry.
runs well, but not raced yet, still waiting for more bits,no mention of air jet size or fitment so presumed a 2.0
(hi 36 mm vm mikuni jetting for 580 ccm, slide 2.5 needle 6dh3,needle jet 159 p2 ,pilot 35 ,,main 200 cheers rod)
oh yes, had to hand make an  alloy manifold to suit
cheers
