I want to let people know of the great service i recieved from Rex Caunt ignitions
http://www.rexcauntracing.com/
I imported a BSA Metisse from the UK last year and when it arrived it was a Bastard to start ::) ( it started ok for the previous owner as my dad videoed him starting it prior to me buying it ) probably didn't like the sea trip ;D
Any way it is fitted with a Rex Caunt electronic ignition and i always thought the spark was at best a bit iffy at cranking speed .
I contacted Rex and Deb at http://www.rexcauntracing.com/
and asked for the stator specs to run a few test .
These guys couldn't have been more helpfull , bottom line i recieved all the specs i needed to test and Rex advised that the problem was probably in the CDI . Rex asked for my address and posted an uprated digital replacement CDI to me at no cost along with the instructions to adjust the timing to suit .
Being a Dufus i still had to pester these guys for more advise and every time they were a huge help and were very understanding when i was asking basic questions .
Bear in mind i never purchased the unit from these guys in the first place , it was purchased by the previous owner a few years ago
Yet still i was treated really really well , These guys sell ignitions and accessories for old bikes and they back it up with old fashioned service very rarely seen these days .
Check out their web site they really are a great outfit to deal with http://www.rexcauntracing.com/
Im pulling the Bantam from the back of the shed now , and i will will fit a Rex Caunt racing unit to that ;D

I bought a NOS clutch basket for my KX250A5 from a dealer in Sweeden a month ago (off ebay), anyway when it arrived it had 2 broken fingers so we sent them a email explaining the situation and he replied with "I have another one so I will send it to you"...no problems...there are good people out there still. :)

I had sent off my car to Paul Müller in Sydney whilst I was overseas, to get a myriad of things done. One high-expense item I requested had actually been done for me, by them, three years earlier and I have no recollection of it. They could easily have charged me and I would have accepted it. Instead they berated me for being a moron (thing just needed adjusting) and refused to charge me for some of the things they did actually do.
Yeah, good people are still out there.
