Title: SOLD! 1988 Kawasaki KX125 SOLD!
Post by: Nathan S on November 11, 2012, 09:21:11 pm
Sold sold sold!

Either a good start for a VMX project bike, or be a good spare bike/paddock basher. I bought it to make into a BTX-replica enduro bike - got it running and did a few tidy-ups and lost interest.

Starts easily, runs fine. Power valve all works!
Has rattle/vibe due to excess piston clearance although the compression feels good(?).

Shock rebuilt. Some slop in suspension linkage, but not too bad.
Wheel bearings etc all good.

Has new O-ring chain and sprockets. Will sell for less with good used chain and rear sprocket instead.

Frame recently painted in 2-pak silver (was originally green). This is one of  the best 80s KX frames I've ever seen - no sign of cracks or previous repairs.

Wear on braking edge of the rear tyre is from me getting stuck on a hill when the tyre was fitted to another bike...

This photo was supposed to show the way the rear guard is bent over from leaning up against another bike in the shed - it's not as obvious as I hoped, but if you look carefully, you'll see it.
