Looking for tips on big bore kit.. valve and cam work.. CDI
Want to make a bit of a small bore thumper.. want some streetablity in it though and retain stock look.
I had one of these 30 yrs ago. I am sure i put a 150 kit in it

why not drop a xl/xr200 motor in it,the wrecker here put a 200 motor in a cb125 that had a cable front disc on it and it when like a shower of shite.it could work out alot cheaper then trying to get your 125 to make the same power ;)
-
ditto,i'm doing a CB125N motor now,it has a XL185 barrell/head/crank shoved init,NSW rego's up to 225cc,so no issues there??,not sure if engineering reports an issue,bigger motor bs?,rta pc will spit up engine different numbers??,so maybe stay with 125 b/end?, :P

Buckets 150cc kits to suit were pretty common 30 + years ago ,now not so at all.
XL/CT185 and early XR200 motors and (dare I say it) a lot of upright Chondas bolt in with minimal mods.
Regards your model can you post a photo or flyer of the bike for visual identification.

seen a few of the chonda motor out the dump and at the scrappies of late when i go checking for bike parts so maybe not a good thing.to get around the rta just mill off the 185/200 engine number/engine cc size on the barrel and stamp on your 125 engine number, just dont sell the 125 motor and no one will know

Im in thailand.. Lifan engine installs are common.. but I am keen to keep to orginal if I can
I know its the hard route.. i will see what pops up..
Dont get me wrong.. if i wanted an XL185 or XR200 thats what i would have bought..
would have bought an XL175 if that popped up..
Bike is in Brisbane and will be stored.. will post a pic,,

First bore is Standard
Second being a 150cc kit type
Third one was last used with a stroker SL125 crank I have 246cc ;)
These bores are from my scrap parts bins hence the rough state.
But not for sale 8)

Was working up in north wales forests and bumped into a bunch of liverpudlians. They were riding dirt cheap chinese copy Hondas which they re engined with Honda internals. A brummie engineer recently told me that the chinese just didn't understand their steel, they used the wrong base stock for a lot of engine applications hence their less than total reliability. Told me they'd get there, but weren't there yet. He'd done a lot of work with the chinese.
Are Powroll still going? Just looked at their website from my favourites and access is forbidden from this server comes up

Cloggy Powroll still going .They have a computer/internet problem. Perhaps soon new all will be OK Have rang their phone number and got an answer.
The above bores are all old genuine Honda ones not Chonda coplee.
