Post by: Curly3 on November 07, 2012, 08:45:49 pm: Looks in pretty good cond to me, I put photo's up a while ago of a similar model Hodaka for a prick relation trying to find out what it may be worth, he expected $1,000 and the best offer we got was $100, I haven't heard back from him since, his was a rust bucket and in bit's.
May give you a starting point.

Regardless of what anyone may say I can absoloutely guarantee I'd be able to get at least $1500 for that bike, put to eBay the market will prove you that. So providing you WANTED one if you're paying anything south of that figure you're doing ok. But if you weren't after one I suppose even a grand is still worth a second thought of if it's worth it to you.

I raced a Hodaka Combat Wombat back in the day and I could have sworn it had Femsatronic CDI......(or perhaps I'm having another of my senior moments and I'm getting it mixed up with another bike from my past) ;D

The owner needs the cash and wants to sell it to someone who will look after. Sounded like he was sell one the kids or dog.

The Honda cr125m2 CDI set was a straight fit up , we even lent a spare set of Super Combat bits to a fella with a crook M2 once ,it ran perfect!

Post by: firko on December 28, 2012, 09:49:36 am: I fitted Maico forks an Elsinore swingarm, a snail pipe made for an Elsinore 125, Gem reed block and a cool plastic tank (Pacifico?) and Preston Petty guards to mine. It didn't improve the bike one smidge but it sure looked the goods. Ray Ryan took a bunch of photos of it back then but they've disappeared into the Ozone.

Getting new tank, pipe & guards sent with it. Micheal McCook been racing this one in states for couple of yrs, so should go not too bad, more my speed these days ::) . Found a couple of pics of a really trick looking black one getting around in US, looks wicked!

What a nice coincidence Hillsy....I spoke to McCook just before Christmas, he's a good friend who stayed at my house and rode my Maico and Kathleen Atkins TS250 at the Nepean Charity meet when he dropped in a couple of years ago. Unfortunately business pressures have forced him out of the sport, he's still got some bikes but he's slowly selling up. He's sent me the YZ250A tank I've been needing for my Hindall RT2MX build, hopefully it'll be here soon. McCooks one of the more unique people I've met in this sport ;D.
