With a bit of creative engineering this old Kato would make a pretty effective pre '85 4 stroke racer. There wasn't a better 4 stroke engine than the Rotax in that era and with WP USD forks and WP rear shock it makes a better project starter for the money than some dunger XR or expensive & fragile 510 Husky.

1984 KTM with a 600 Rotax motor, clean street title, I bought it from original owner with intentions of street tracker project and its been sitting in my garage for 4 years. Carb cleaning and fresh fuel and she's ready. I'm located in Western MA.

I'm a bit of a fan of the Rotax 600's.
I had one of these to pre run at Finke in '87. Great engine, decent suspension but all the road gear light speedos etc kept breaking/falling off etc. ::)

They did make a pure MX model which you can buy NOS parts for still so conversion is easy. You can also fit a disk front brake by fitting the bottom lug from the 85 fork.

A better one sold here on ebay a couple of years ago for $980. I think one of the forum members picked it up.
