So one of these little rockets was my first bike, and I thought I would get my hands on one and do a resto.
Only problem is I don't know what specific model it was, I have a visual in my head, but that's about it.
Any good leads on web sites or info that maybe useful?

My first bike was a Deltek Grassgrub which was green with a solid rear end and 125 Victa motor, the next model up was the Rockhopper and it was red with rear shocks connected to the seat. A few years ago i bought a nice original condition Rockhopper to ad to the stable. That's about all the info i've got..

Mine had the solid rear end and victa motor...but I'm sure it was orange/red, I'm trying to visualise the sticker on the front numberplate, but it's just not coming to me.
All of the google images I've looked at show them all butchered or highly modified, but nothing oem.

Grand Prix is a different brand to Deltek, Deckson is another.. unless you've got a picture to identify it you could've had anything

Here's a couple of pics of my resto'd Deltek rockhopper, the guards are not the correct ones & neither are the shocks but the rest is original as far as I know, the new chrome on the tank & bars cost a motza but I reckon it was worth it 8),I also have waiting restoration one day a Grassgrub & the bottom of the range model, the name escapes me now but it is rigid all round no front or rear suspension :)

Thanks JO,they are pretty sketchy little shitters to ride eh,The pic just reminded me of another non original part, the air cleaner lid is from the top of a canister from the $2 shop :D,a guy on ebay oz is reproducing the front decal, which to me finishes it off,not bloody cheap though :)

I had a Kirby engined Grand Prix. It was a hardtail. Lotsa fun....the chain would derail whenever the sprocket dug into the dirt (often!), the handlebars bent at their bolt mount and I got regularly electrocuted trying to kill the spark while trying not touching the top of the exposed sparkplug. Yeah, lotsa memories ;D
JohhnyO's pictured model was the deluxe version. I was still happy with the poverty pack version although the handlebars only folded when the mounts broke completely!

These are the real fair dinkum minibikes.
My father made up a Rockhopper with a Suzuki U70 motor, inc expansion chamber, it was a handfull.

Dan at motographic's has the Grand Prix stickers , had an original he made up for mine . blue frame hard tail . Im chasing the lower fork legs and springs . Iain

We had a Deltex Rockhopper which we used as a pit bike for our drag racing altered. We did more laps of Catlereagh, Surfers Paradise, Calder and A.I.R. pits than we did down thr quarter in the car. It was a fun little buzzrocket until some prick stole it off the trailer at Surfers.

I remember starting was always a scary deal, throttle and pull chord on the same side.... so left hand crossed over to grab the throttle, about half turn should do it, right hand down behind the leg and..pull.
If the clutch engaged before you had enough time to back off with your left hand all hell broke loose....especially if Dad had a few heavy stubbies and decided he knew best :D :D flat on his arse.

The Rockhoppers and Grassgrubs were candy apple red and candy apple green.. can powder coaters do those colours?
-
The Deltek Rockhopper had a metalic bronze orange coloured frame, not candy apple red, the base model Deltek with no suspension was called a Bushwacker and had a candy apple blue frame, all Delteks were powered by Victa 125 motors as standard, Delteks were made at the same factory as the Grand Prix minibike. I have a Rockhopper fitted with an optional front brake assembly.

This add must have sold a lot of Delteks, nothing better than a hotttie in a pair of C.F.M. boots :-*

Hey we had these when we first started. Our father was a mower mechanic, we also had Deltek frames with Victor engines and the old style Victor starters as the had a lot of compression, we also ran (in the end) Kirby engines but with jack shafts so as the read sprocket did not dig in. The old old man was pretty good at hotting them up as well.
