I have a brand new pair of shocks for my DT1 but the chain is in the way would it be possible to mount the shocks on the outside of the bracket instead of inside if I beaf up the mounts.I want this bike for CD5 so I have to get my act together. :o jimson

will the top hit the pipe if you space it out ?
I spaced a pair of Mulhollands with a huge set of finning out on a TS once but then Suzy's have posts not brackets.
If they are still verticle and you can support the mounts I cant see why not But it aint going to look all that flash.

The standard Yamaha set-up where the bolt is in double shear is definitely better, but plenty of things have shock bolts in single shear without drama.
If you were to do the long bolt in single shear thing, get a new high-tensile bolt and run it through both parts of the existing mount as well as the shock (in other words, don't try to mount it off just the outer part of the existing mount, because you WILL bend the mount and/or the bolt).
