I'm in the process of rebuilding the Falta air shocks at the moment and would like to know the oil levels and weights along with the air psi for the set up. Is anyone actually running a set in vmx?

Your Falta air shocks are still not pre74 vmx legal i think ok pre 78
Have the psi info just got to find it
Also the Suzuki model is TS185er for the CZ
Fair bit of stuffing around to fit when you can buy the correct CDI from most CZ dealers
Tony done the Suzuki thing a melted a piston which is posted on this forum
Cheers

Why aren't they legal for pre 75? I've been toying with the idea of putting mine on my pre 75 dirt tracker.

Firko,I don't think the airshocks came out until the '75 Falta models.Red frame was still standard coil sprung shocks.

I realise that Faltas were '75 models Paul but I thought that shocks were considered 'consumables' and as long as they weren't remote reservoir and that were only an inch longer than standard anything was kosher. I'm not looking to open a whole shitfight debate on this.....I'm genuinely curious as I've just had the airshocks rebuilt for my pre 75 flat tracker and would like to use them.

True Firko, why would I be telling you when they came out, geez :D.Having said that I'm not sure of the regs regarding flattrack, does the 4" and 7" rule apply?I reckon they'd look good on a tracker and work pretty well.

Classic Dirt track uses the same rules as Classic motocross including the 7" x 4" rules. I know that Falta airshocks are less than ordinary for motocross but seeing that I had a couple of pairs figured that they'd be pretty good for dirt track because of their infinite 'tunability'. Jawa actually used them on their factory long trackers back in the seventies.

okay thanks guys,
Even if the shocks weren't legal for pre 75 i don't think they will be much of a performance enhancement.. although it would be nice to see if they can be made to work better.
Has anyone bothered playing around with them to see if they will work better or not?

Carl there was a guy who used advertise on Marks Swapmeet who made repair seal kits for the Falta air shocks. A small ad on there asking if he's still around might work.
Failing that, the blokes on Cousin Weedies CZ forum (see jims post up above)would know something.

Clymer manual says 37psi/166c ATF for rear mounted shocks & 44psi/175cc Atf for forward mounted shocks

Firko I have the seal kit for rebuilding the shocks (supplied when we bought them).
I will get onto the cousin weedy forum and see what I can Find.
Thanks Tony, I should have had a look in that book in the first place haha.
