I could have sworn I saw a Dave reply here a minute or so ago ???.

I actually owned one of these little gizmo's back in 1970 but it was way too slow even for this painfully slow rider. In the mid 90's I bought another one, this time a 175 from a bloke at work but soon realised that even cheating in the 125 class, it was still too slow. It's now buried in Anthony Suttors woolshed with 100 + other Bultacos.

There's a well written and researched history of the model in VMX #34  ::).

When I bought the bike I was told it was a 100cc, but I am not sure, the barrel is large, it could be bigger.
Dave, wouldn't it be an easy thing to pop the head off and check to see exactly how big it is? 10 minutes work would take the guesswork out of your listing .

I bought a basket case 4 speed 125cc M3 about 6 years ago with the intention of building a pre-65 trials bike, but that project stopped suddenly when the MA eligibility rules were changed to exclude all Spanish bikes from pre-65 Trials :(

I have a 200cc barrel coming from the states, I raced a sherpa S 200cc years ago, and it went very well, I have myself a another Bully 250 which I will be racing.
The little sherpa would come very close to give a greeves a run for its money, the bully would produce the same HP against the greeves, plus the bully has a better gearbox.

Do you still have the model 3 basket case?? I may be interested!

Dave I bet your Sherpa S is actually a 125 from the engine/frame numbers,  If you bought the 200 barrel and radial head from the US eBay site the other week, you find that the head and barrel are actually from the 4 speed mk2 matador 250cc and will not fit the m3 engine cases as the 250 4 speeds have a different cylinder stud config. Having said that, what's your buy it now price?

Cheers!

The engine has very good compression, and there is no reason why it should start
