Title: "Vintage Bike Get Together."
Post by: Billet YZ on October 08, 2012, 11:01:23 pm: This get together is something i was planning to hold as a stand alone day for all Viper members and other vintage bike enthusiasts, my plan is to have as many vintage dirt bikes on display for the whole day. This event will be held in Melton Victoria 3337.

This will now be held on the same day as the Viper Presentation which is Saturday 17th November 2012, it would be good for the Viper members and others to bring along there race bikes or there restored bikes and display them for all to see. I have also arranged for a few of my mates to bring along there collection of bikes so there should be a fair bit to see and talk about.

The plan is to make a big day of it including the Viper Presentation formalities then continue on with a good afternoon of viewing all the bikes which at a race day we just don`t get to do, the doors are open for anybody that wants to stay and camp overnight. There will be a big bonfire set-up to sit around for some late into the night bench racing / beer drinking, i will have a few bbq`s set up for you to cook your food on and for those that are still there in the morning bacon & eggs will be on the go.

Please note for the Saturday night it is B.Y.O. grog and bbq food, the breakfast stuff will be provided.

Please send me a p.m. or advise on this thread if you are attending. There is plenty of secure space to lock the bikes up overnight for those that don`t have enclosed trailers. Regards Peter.

Still waiting for the Maico guru to commit. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting. I`m sure he will front up. I should never have called them Maygo`s.

I will continue to add to this list when bikes are confirmed.

Hi John,
the day will be held in Melton on Saturday 17th November. The Mitchell ride day is the next day the 18th. peter.

C'mon Paul. We know it's a lot of work wheeling those bikes out of the shed and driving a whole 30 minutes to Melton but I'll personally make sure nobody says anything..........hurtful...........about Maicos :'(

Somewhere, there's a cafe screaming out for some big butch guys to pull up on some noisy bikes and sit around drinking latte's all afternoon..... ;)

Good to hear Hilly, are you there for the whole day or just the afternoon ? i will need to ad you and family to the list for the caterer.

Did or can anyone get me pics or info of the YZ360? I would like to build one if possible, so anything would be appreciated....

Post by: Rookie#1 on November 18, 2012, 04:55:46 pm: Yep a fantastic effort by Peter and his Missus on the day an I'm sure before hand organizing, great display of bikes in a lovely acreage setting with plenty of great catered food, jumping castle for the tin lids and lots of bench racing for any who wished to indulge. My fav bikes on display were Grahame Hunters DT-1, the brilliant KX250 and that cracker little HL80!!! Had a great time, thank for a top arvo :)

Post by: John Orchard on November 18, 2012, 05:18:23 pm: Yep I must agree with the above, thankyou heaps for putting on the day, I hope we can have more days like that; my pick for the bikes on display (after my RM125 ;-) ), that HL80 always turns my head, the Monty attracts me because I haven't seen very many, the Trevor Flood YZ is awesome ........ god I'm just going to go-on lol

I thought they were.
KB's HL 80 was a treat, the food was great, lots of grouse bikes and I was kicked out of the jumping castle for belting kids.....
