my 73 explorers ignition had a dummyspit at CD9,put a spare on,but have run out of slot adjustment on stator plate at 2.2mm before TDC,clymer manual gives ignition timing @ 2.75- 3 for 71-72 models,(i'm assuming 73 model would be the same),both are 5 wire stators/humongus rotors, the timing location pinholes is left of centre on the replacement stator,my original is dead centre on the "trigger" plate,(both rotors are centrally indexed??),WTF??,anyone come across this "problem",i realize i could extend the slots, but not too a desirable fix as plate has wider stepped sections after narrow slots, cheers mick
