Hi everyone,

I found this forum as I was searching for information on HL500's.  I have recently purchased an 1976 XT500 and hope to make it into a road going bike that loosely resembles a HL500.  I also have what I think is a Hodaka super rat 100 at my fathers place that I hope to restore to original after I do the XT.

I currently live in brisbane and work on an Island off the coast of W.A constructing a LNG plant.  I decided to get back into bikes after an 8 year Hiatus as something to do when I'm on my R&R.

So after some research I have changed the direction of my xt500 build.  Going to go for the flat tracker look.  Have set of gpx250 forks and have found that an XR600 swingarm fits and is about 100mm longer.

Also started tearing the engine and found some problems that I may need some help with.  Not sure if I should post pics in here or in the yamaha section.  Let me know if you would like to see some pics.

Rebuild pic's are the go Paul but move it to the Yamaha section . Iain
