Title: 1983 CR125 Radiator problem
Post by: Tossa on September 23, 2012, 05:36:23 pm
Started bike, fluid poured out the overflow.  Noticed cap old and generic, so purchased a new one.  Filled radiator up, cap on, same thing occurred discharged out the overflow.  I work it out to be the wrong type cap, not holding pressure.  Any thoughts?

How quickly could i get hold of a Honda Cap

if you have just changed the coolent,it will spill some out
if the cap is worn and you replace it with the same 1.1 1.2 1.4 cap
you should have no problem, but down side it may be the head gasket

cap I replaced it with is a 90 as that was what was on it.  Would the head gasket cause it to discharge immediately?  I will pick up a 1.1, 1.2 or 1.4 tomorrow

just got the bike, it was leaking from the pipe joining both tanks.  When i fixed this it then started the overflow problem.  I think what bumper says is my first point of call get a cap to hold the pressure
