Chasing a set of good set of 380-400 eye to eye rear shocks was running 330 real stiff bastard ( no give) want to go abit taller in seat ..

I just got a pair of progressive shocks from the States via ebay for my RM125B, cost me $280 landed. Had to use RM250B springs as the shocks have a little less damping than the stockers; for dirt-track you may even need an even stffer primary (smaller spring) spring.
I got 380mm (15"), I wouldn't go any longer; the A's, B's & C's have the front sprocket too far away from the swingarm pivot; you'd have too many troubles with the amount of chain freeplay you'd have to run.

give Darrel at moose racing products in vic a ring he is the aus distributor for hagon shocks he will have wat u need and set them for u if ur not up to it pretty good to deal with on price and service.

Tip in a bit more and get somthing decent ;) those progressives are ok for holding the rear gaurd off the tyre but thats all .
Joan (davey crocket ) on here will get you a deal on works performance :) progressives are just a generic emulsion shock and not rebuildable ::)
Works performance i believe are the best low cost option :)

However they are aluminium bodied as opposed to stell bodied :-\ this particular pair have done 5 seasons racing :)

Walter do you have any specs / pics of the $299.00 options , that sounds like a great price if they are comparable quality / specs to the WP option .

I've got a pair of old school finned alloy bodied Works Performance shocks that have been on my Maico for near enough to twenty years with not a single problem. I've changed the oil a couple of times and did the seals once, not because they needed to be done but for general maintenance. While they're not the most advanced shock on the market, they're as reliable as an HQ Kingswood.
I recently bought a set of steel bodied Works shocks for a good price of Curt Fournier on the Swapmeet which I'm currently rebuilding for one of my projects.
Having said nice things about Works Shocks, I must also stick up for the YSS shocks that have seen a number of seasons on one of my Maicos and are currently on my Cheney Yamaha. While they're the low budget model (can't remember what) with no external dampening adjustment, they work well with only a slight leak on one of them. I'd have no problem recommending them.

Theres lots of reasons why Works Performance shocks are the most common shock out there in VMX land....very affordable, quality product, they work, been around since the early 70's, probably the greatest knowledge/information on shocks for bikes from the 60's forward, fully rebuildable (cheaply I might add), not overcomplicated, parts ARE available, they are a period mod if thats your caper, they look right, they actually did alot of R&D back in the day with the manufacturers, they have won more races than any other shock.......the beat goes on.... ;)
