Just a word of warning. Two weeks ago I had my Husqvarna in the Quokka or sale. Had a txt from someone wanting more information and a return email address which I responded to. The purchaser claimed to be working offshore but wanted the bike to be sent for their return.
I was suspisious but continued with the sale. I sent the purchaser an account number to make payment but again used one of my kids accounts not linked to my netbank. The person claimed to live in Darwin.
The purchaser came back and indicated that the transport company required payment up front and as the agency was based in the UK, could I make the arrangments from my end and pay $950 to the UK agent and I would receive the combined total from the purchaser. The purchaser claimed to not have his credit card and required my help.
I emailed back to the purchaser that the deal was off and haven't heard from him since.

Its annoying thats for sure.
Lots of people have my mobile number but I never post my home number. My email address won't do them much good.

Some are using animals and guilt to scam money too. A girl I worked with wanted a miniature dog called a 'teacup pomeranian'.
She couldnt find one locally but found one on the internet in Darwin, The seller said she would part with it for free, it had belonged to her late mother and just wanted to see it go to a good home. However, the freight company that specialised in sending pets would need a payment of $500 before the dog would be sent from Darwin to Perth. The next day she got a call from the annoyed seller, asking where the money was. She was told the dog was already at the freight terminal and was very distressed in the heat and could possibly die.
We did a search for the freight company and found it was registered in Africa. She sent no money and I guess the dog never existed. >:(
