Title: Female Racer from New Zealand!!
Post by: britneyshirriffs on August 29, 2012, 07:00:04 pm
Hi all  :)

My name is Britney Shirriffs I have recently relocated to Australia from New Zealand!
Back home I race Motocross, mainly Vintage but also Modern events on my VMX Bike.

I race a 1983 Yamaha YZ125K back home which I love and prefer over my modern YZ250F.

I competed in the Mr VMX Series 9 which I completed coming 7th, (Having only completed 3 of 5 rounds).

I also raced at the Johnny Old VMX event which was held in March in NZ. It is a motocross which was held back in the 1980's but was brought back in 2010. I did very well here coming 4th out of about 15 bikes in the Linkage 125 Class.

I'm looking at getting into VMX over here but unfortunately do not have the funds right now to purchase a bike.. I would love to have a race/ride at the Queensland Vintage MX Practice Day & Club Day  at Rocksberg, Caboolture if anyone is heading there with a spare bike..  ;D

Hi Britney and welcome to our humble forum.
First up, congrats for emigrating to the lucky country and secondly for being involved in Classic racing.
Us old codgers love nothing more than associating with females, despite our age.
Don't be shy, ask as many questions as you like but please consider Dirttrack, fast & furious.
Cheers, Steve

Hi Britney,
Welcome, and enjoy the ride? You will get plenty of help from members here, on anything related to vmx.
You are spoilt for choice if you are in S.E Qld, with 2 great vmx clubs, plenty of events, and fantastic race tracks.
Hope you can get a ride at Rocksberg, might see you there?
